And now a surprise: a new album by Carol Kidd! Kidd had retreated from the world of music after doctors diagnosed that she lost her voice due to "trauma" following a personal bereavement. Her return is, apparently, due to fan-based demand. Singing a range of standards, she's on form on "Dreamsville". Only Kidd could put the sparkle back into the overly sung A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, while the multi-paced It's Alright With Me is positively innovative.
