Jazzwise Best of 2008 for Linn Artists

Great news for Linn Records as the respected Jazzwise magazine publishes their 2008 charts. Featuring the critics' choices in jazz releases for the calendar year, several releases have been charted by respected journalists.

In the New Releases category, BBC Jazz Award nominees Arnie Somogyi's Ambulance were included for their album "Accident and Insurgency" by writers Andy Robson (number 2) and Alyn Shipton (number 9). Meanwhile, Ian Shaw 's self-penned album "Lifejacket" received a chart placing by Andy Robson (number 8).

Meanwhile, in the Reissues and Archives category Claire Martin's "The Early Years Anthology" four album set was included by Mike Flynn (number 10) and Peter Quinn (number 8). Her other reissue of 2008, "Perfect Alibi" was placed by Brian Glasser (number 9).

The charts are well worth a read and a great reference point to the year of activity in jazz.
