"Elevate" in Observer Best of 2008

Renowned folk singer Julie Fowlis has named "Elevate" by Fiona MacKenzie as one of her favourite albums of 2008.

The feature in The Observer entitled "The best albums of 2008 - by the hot artists", asked a range of renowned artists - including Estelle, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) and Guy Garvey (Elbow) - to nominate their favourite titles of the year.

In her nomination, Julie said "I also love "Elevate" by Fiona Mackenzie, one of the freshest albums I've heard coming out of the Highlands in a long time."

This is another great boost for an album which has received terrific reviews across the folk and traditional press as well as in the broadsheets.
